I’m a second generation Canadian born to Portuguese immigrants who came to Canada in the late 50’s. I was born, raised and educated in Western Canada, majoring in French and political science. Like many Canadians I grew up with a strong ethnic influence both at home and in my community. This exposure gave me a strong appreciation for the diversity and richness of the Canadian mosaic. As a result I learned to appreciate the unique Canadian ability to embrace the differences in our kaleidoscope of citizens through language. My professional career quickly steered me towards marketing where for the last 12 years I have worked in demographic analysis and targeting. Learning to use data collected from various sources, I used my appreciation for our diversity to seek out unique characteristics for our ethnic minorities and help others reach and speak to them. Leading a national team of analysts from coast to coast in both official languages, I successfully translated the data into marketing campaigns designed to reach these unique cultures for commercial, ngo and fund raising objectives. Recently I have felt the desire to reconnect directly with these communities on a more personal level. Through real estate I hope to marry my love of language, marketing and one on one personal servicing to help Canadians achieve their goals of finding homes to live, raise their families and continue to contribute to the rich Canadian community.
